Hey there! I'm Hana Ikramuddin, a breaking news and crime reporter with Hearst Connecticut Media Group as part of the two-year Hearst Fellowship. I spent my first year of the fellowship at the Houston Chronicle, mostly writing about trending and breaking topics.I've previously interned with the Star Tribune and Sahan Journal. As an APM reports intern, I was able to contribute to an investigative podcast called "Sent Away" that looked into Utah's regulation of treatment programs for troubled teens and earned the prestigious Barlett & Steele Award for investigative business journalism.I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and political science. During college, I was also able to dedicate a lot of my time to my college paper, the Minnesota Daily.I am passionate about explanatory journalism and reporting that zooms in on communities that typically see less media coverage. In my free time, I love to make chai, search for local cafes with perfect iced matcha lattes and read lots of fiction. I'd love to connect on socials or through email!
